Nature Theater of Oklahoma of the Alps Meets Dr. Yes

Concept, Choreography, Text: David Kern and Tamar Lamm

Music: David Kern

Performers: David Kern, Tamar Lamm, Gunnar Jónnson

Premiere 13 August 2026

Choreographers David Kern and Tamar Lamm collaborate in a one-time partnership with the award-winning Icelandic fisherman and actor, Gunnar Jónsson, in creating a dance-theater work of the absurd.

The work is influenced by the "fan art" genre — art created under the influence of a TV series, book, or film. It seeks to pay homage to the pioneering avant-garde theater group Nature Theater of Oklahoma, the writer Gertrude Stein, the iconic choreographer George Balanchine, and others. It raises pointed questions about the thin line between artistic influence and theft, and openly leans toward the more "criminal" side.

Over the course of four acts the performers, harnessed by beauty, chaos, and humor, embark on a journey crossing landscapes in the Alps on their way toward the coveted goal.
