Because We Love You

Concept and Choreography: Tamar Lamm and David Kern
Music: Franz Josef Haydn, Trio #44 - Allegretto
Lighting: Omer Sheizaf

"The work by Tamar Lamm and David Kern dissolves the line between dance and cognition. As the work evolves, it narrates its own occurrences. Several coexisting realms converge or diverge, always harboring surprising turns that lead to yet another realm. The performers – an exquisitely synchronized couple in love - verbalize on stage what they are thinking in designing the choreography, while at that very moment they already stream on to the next movement in a spiral of coexisting infinite elements. The time dimension thus comes to life almost as an independent third dancer. Sprinkled with humor, this innovative work takes the audience into the enjoyable twilight zone between order and turbulence, independence and togetherness." - Rachel Altermann

"Because We Love You" was first performed in Jerusalem as part of the Zirat Machol Festival, July 2016. This creation was supported by Yasmeen Godder Studio as part of a residency program. It was nominated for the city mouse prize for best dance piece 2016.
